CNC Programmer
Job Summary
- The CNC Programmer will program CNC machinery utilizing CAD/CAM software to generate 2, 3, or 4 axis machine code.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Demonstrate ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings.
- Program Mills and/or Lathes.
- Familiar with using a Computer Aided Design System.
- Ability to read and understand CNC programming code.
- Experienced in selecting appropriate tools for optimum accuracy and efficient processing of the order.
- Identify appropriate fixtures or jigs that need to be produced or purchased.
- Generate the program off-line using manual programming techniques or with a CAD/CAM system.
- Maintain program storage in the master library.
- Assist the Set-up personnel with verification and optimization as necessary.
- Understand all safety requirements related to general manufacturing processes.
- Capable of accurately estimating programming, set-up and run times for quoting purposes.
- Demonstrated quality programming techniques and maintenance.
- Involved with training other programming personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex assignment.
- Work in a safe and professional manner and maintain a clean work area.
- Wear proper personal protective equipment.
- Cooperation with supervisor and co-worker, willing to work as a team.
- Timely arrival and regular attendance at work.
- Willing to work overtime.
- Willing to work any shift.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Associate degree/Technical certification or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years minimum experience.
Technical Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency programming CNC Mills and/or Lathes utilizing a CAD/CAM (preferably Mastercam) system.
- Skillful communication and documentation of necessary setup information.
Language Skills
- The ability to read, write and speak the English language with comprehension skills sufficient to understand safety standards and job performance expectations.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to interpret instructions which may be furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed inside environmental conditions, noise, moving mechanical parts and may have air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
- The noise level in the environment isloud.
Qualifications
